"The ‘Safe and Secure Truck Parking Area (SSTPA) – Ponentia-La Vispesa’ is a project initiated by Ponentia Logistics, S.A. Seamlessly integrated into the global “La Melusa” Logistics Platform project, declared as Project of General Interest by the Government of Aragon (PIGA) in July 2022. this initiative addresses the pressing need for enhanced safety and security for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) along the vital Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). At its core, the SSTPA ‘Ponentia-La Vispesa’ aspires to redefine the standards of safety, comfort, and sustainability in road transport. The SSTPA ‘Ponentia-La Vispesa’ project aims to: •Enhance driver welfare: Provide high-quality services: restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and dining areas, achieving ""Gold-level"" certification. •Improve road safety: Ensure compliance with mandatory driver rest periods while reducing risks associated with cargo theft and accidents. •Promote sustainability: Incorporate solar energy, energy-efficient systems, and a design supporting multimodal transport, significantly reducing CO2 emissions. Situated at exit 27 of the A-22 motorway in Tamarite de Litera, Spain, the SSTPA will serve as a critical node linking the Mediterranean Core Network Corridor, the Intermodal Railway Terminal ""Ponentia-La Melusa,"" and the broader ""La Melusa-Tamarite"" Logistics Platform, ensuring seamless transitions between road and rail transport, driving efficiency and promoting decarbonization through reduced CO2 emissions."
