SAFE AND SECURE TRUCK PARKING AREA SMREKCE

The project addresses the construction of a safe and secure truck parking area (SSTPA) located between the Kozarje junction and the Razdrto junction of the Slovenian A1 motorway which forms part of the Mediterranean, Baltic Sea – Adriatic Sea and Western Balkans – Eastern Mediterranean European Transport Corridors. The main objective of the project is to develop a new safe and secure truck parking area in accordance with Commission Delegated Regulation 2022/1012. To achieve the mentioned objective, the project covers the construction of the SSTPA on approximately 16,200 m2 of area with 69 parking spaces for heavy goods vehicles (HGV), including 6 parking spaces for refrigerated vehicles and 2 parking spaces for electric charging. The SSTPA will have the technical parameters and provide the level of services corresponding to the “Gold” level EU parking standard. The project is composed of 4 work packages, covering project management and communication, construction of safe and secure truck parking area (SSTPA), construction of solar plant and issuance of “Gold” level EU parking standard certificate. Upon its completion, the project will bring multiple benefits, including improved traffic safety, security and working conditions for truck drivers, as well as a decrease in accidents and greenhouse gas emissions.
