The Safe and Strong project is a 24-month project which aims to tackle harmful weight loss practices among young athletes in judo by providing education and awareness-raising to athletes, coaches, and parents. The project seeks to fill the gap in knowledge and awareness about safe and healthy body weight regulation methods and promote their adoption to prevent health risks and improve athletic performance. The project's general objective is to improve the competence of athletes, coaches, and parents on safe Body Weight Regulation (BWR) in judo through education and awareness-raising. The project will develop and disseminate guidelines on safe BWR methods, increase knowledge and awareness of BWR among target groups, and promote the adoption of safe Body Weight Regulation (BWR) practices in judo. The consortium consists of three judo clubs from Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy, addressing the common need to provide a safe sports environment for their judokas.
