Description | The historic city of Dhar in Madhya Pradesh has been selected under the Centre's 'Safe Cities' project for 2026. The project aims to strengthen women's safety infrastructure and urban security by making public spaces safe and women-friendly through upgraded infrastructure and surveillance systems. It includes installation of CCTV cameras, improved street lighting, better monitoring, development of special facilities in hospitals, construction of 'Pink Toilets', and women-friendly amenities at tourist spots. Awareness campaigns and training programs will also be conducted to promote community sensitivity towards women's safety. |
