Raiffeisenbank Czech Republic (RBCZ) is a major financial institution operating within the Czech Republic, being the fourth largest bank in Czech Republic. As the Project applicant, Raiffeisen CZ plays a pivotal role in enhancing cybersecurity practices, cooperation, and resilience within the Czech banking sector. Through the implementation of this Project, the Bank will not only ensure compliance with cybersecurity legislation, build its internal capacities and robustness in the area of security, but also contribute to the reinforcement and security of the digital technology supply chain in the EU, particularly within the financial services industry and Operators of Essential Services. The Project’s overall objective is to significantly enhance the cybersecurity infrastructure, readiness, and resilience of RBCZ processes, thereby ensuring a high level of cybersecurity compliance with EU regulations and directives and contribute to creating the ‘EU cyber shield’ via using quantum computing technology as an innovative approach towards cyber threat identification. This Project holds crucial importance for Raiffeisenbank Czech Republic, the broader banking industry including OESs, and the EU as a whole because it will address critical regulatory compliance in order to overcome cybersecurity challenges and mitigate risks, foster collaboration between OESs, enhance competitive advantages, and contribute to the overall cyber resilience of the EU. It will be a proactive step toward securing critical digital infrastructure and maintaining trust in the banking sector across the EU through alignment with relevant EU legislative. Alongside with Project management, quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation as well as Sharing what we learned - fostering security and innovation through promotion and dissemination as supporting work packages, the proposed Project also entails the core work package under which significant improvements towards NIS2 compliance will be executed.
