Description | The project meets the call priorities by strengthening the role of the Italian Safer Internet Centre – Generazioni Connesse at National level and supporting the European approach by sharing information, good practices, and resources with the EU Better Internet for Kids (BIK) platform. The target groups are kids aged 0 -18, parents and teachers. The general objective of this project is to create a safer and better internet for children and young people providing online safety information, educational resources, public awareness tools and counselling and reporting services. The specific objective is to support children in strengthening their competencies and acting responsibly and consciously in the digital world. The intermediate objectives are: 1) To empower and encourage children, parents, and teachers to define they need to better protect and actively contribute to the implementation of new strategies to foster positive use of the digital devices. 2) To help target groups to identify and address emerging risks and mental health issues related to the use of technologies. 3) To provide children with the digital skills and tools they need to take advantage of the digital transformation. 4) To offer advice and support children, parents, and other adults when they need help on online related issues. 5) Strengthen cooperation with law enforcement and the private sector to facilitate reporting potential CSAM and reduce the spreading of illegal materials. 6) To promote dialogue and exchange of information with key players members of the National Advisory Board with the contribution of government institutions, private sector, organisations, and education stakeholders. 7) To provide a qualitative and quantitative exchange of best practices and interoperability, with Better Internet for Kids platform and Insafe and Inhope networks. |
