Description

Description

The project's main objective is to enhance online safety and digital literacy for children and youth, primarily by supporting the National Safer Internet Centre Croatia (SIC Croatia). It aligns well with the goals of the Call document, emphasizing the support for national Safer Internet Centres. SIC Croatia will offer valuable services such as online safety information, educational resources, awareness campaigns, and counseling services, which align with the Call's focus on providing dedicated helplines for various stakeholders. The project's main focus is on safeguarding children's rights in the digital age and enhancing online safety for children in Croatia. It aligns with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and aims to strengthen the capacity of the awareness center and maintain helpline services. Moreover, the project actively promotes digital literacy through workshops, campaigns, and awareness initiatives, empowering young people to become responsible digital citizens—a crucial skill in today's digital landscape. It also provides a dedicated Helpline service for parents and children facing digital-related issues, addressing the Call's priority of counseling and reporting services. The project's Hotline service plays a crucial role in identifying and reporting illegal and harmful internet content, contributing to the Call's emphasis on tackling illegal online content. Additionally, it fosters collaboration and the exchange of information through an Advisory Board, in line with the Call's focus on stakeholder collaboration. The project aligns seamlessly with the broader objectives of the Digital Europe Programme by creating a safer online environment for children and youth, promoting digital literacy, and supporting cooperation and knowledge sharing. It also emphasizes children's rights online and user protection, aligning with the Digital Europe Programme's goal of safeguarding fundamental rights in the digital age.
