Description
Description | The Slovak Safer Internet Centre aims to improve online safety for children through a well-defined, multi-faceted initiative. It balances preventive measures, intervention strategies, and awareness-raising, backed by a robust system of governance, evaluation, and stakeholder involvement. The project involves multiple partners who have experience in various aspects of child safety, fighting, monitoring and reporting child sexual abuse material, helping children and youth online through professional advice, coordinating national policies on child welfare and safety online and awareness raising. Managed by two primary committees—Steering for strategy and Financial for budgeting—it involves multiple experienced partners. Regular meetings ensure alignment and accountability. The project is organized into six Work Packages (WPs). WP1 handles overall project management, emphasizing a strong partnership agreement and frequent communication. WP2 focuses on increasing national awareness about internet safety. WP3 and WP4 are designated for Helpline and Hotline services to offer safety measures and interventions. WP5 involves the Advisory Board and Youth Panel for inclusive decision-making. WP6 concentrates on developing resources like educational content, podcasts, and games. Key quantitative indicators include website creation, Safer Internet Day conference, Digital Youth Forum, educational programs, and resource materials. The Advisory Board offering the opportunity for various stakeholders to be involved and Youth Panel composed of active youths are integral part of the project. Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting by partners are fundamental elements. Compliance with governing bodies such as HaDEA is assured. The project also encourages international cooperation with other Safer Internet Centres and aims for adaptability by learning from similar initiatives. |
