Description

Description

Safer Internet Centre Sweden (SIC Sweden) aims to strengthen the implementation of the new European strategy for a better internet for kids (BIK+) nationally. With a complete safer internet centre consisting of an awareness centre, Swedish Agency for the Media (SAM), a helpline, Bris – Children’s Rights in Society (Bris), and a hotline, ECPAT Sweden (ECPAT), SIC Sweden will be able to work both preventative and reactive with safety and security for children online. Together the consortium will provide available resources that meet different societal challenges. The consortium will give advice and support to children and parents on online-related issues and provide data on challenges children and youth face online. And the consortium will continue to allow citizens to anonymously report CSAM and CSEM and operate the hotline in accordance with best practice guidelines. Building on a previous successful collaboration, the external competences of the Advisory Board and other partnerships SIC Sweden will continue to add to the long-term sustainability of the BIK+ strategy by implementing the intentions of the strategy within the Swedish context. And through further developing the project’s youth panel and youth participation activities, SIC Sweden will continue to strengthen children and youth’s involvement in the project. This proposal puts forward a project period with an active and strong SIC Sweden working towards the objectives of the Digital Europe Programme. The priority for the project is to make the internet a safe place for all children and youth. Therefore a special focus also will be put to specifically target vulnerable or disadvantaged groups of children and youth. The internet brings many benefits and new opportunities and SIC Sweden aims to strengthen children and youth’s media and information literacy as well as their digital confidence, to foster their ability to make conscious decisions and act when faced with harmful situations.
