Sagamore Bridge Replacement Project

The project involves the replacement of the Sagamore Bridge on Cape Cod with two separate spans for northbound and southbound traffic. The new bridge will allow traffic to be moved onto one span while the other is still under construction, enabling earlier use of the new bridge. Construction is scheduled to start in winter 2027-2028, with partial use of the new bridge expected by 2033. The project aims to avoid cost overruns and delays by using independent cost estimates and close coordination with the Federal Highway Administration.
