Description | In 2003, Jabalpur Corridor (I) Pvt. Ltd was awarded a 15 year concession contract for strengthening, widening, and reconstructing the 176 km long Sagar-Damoh-Jabalpur road by Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited (MPRDC). MPRDC is a wholly owned Madhya Pradesh (MP) state government company responsible for the construction and rehabilitation of MP state roads. Under the contract, investment was made by Jabalpur Corridor (I) Pvt. Ltd. in return for the rights to collect tolls during the term of the contract. Jabalpur Corridor (I) Pvt. Ltd won the competitive tender, conducted by MPRDC, by bidding the lowest government subsidy/ grant amount of US$ 10.24 million. The total cost of the project was estimated at US$ US$ 19.26 million. As of February 2006, 45% of the construction was completed. |
