Saint John Flood Mitigation Strategy Project

This project includes the new construction and rehabilitation of 27 assets including a sea wall, pumping stations, and power related infrastructure which provide wastewater, water, power, and other essential services. The three sub-projects, chosen because of their higher consequences of failure as a result of flooding events, are: (1) refurbishment of a Sea Wall, (2) raising or replacement critical municipal infrastructure (nine wastewater pumping stations and one water pumping station) above flood levels, and (3) relocation of Critical Waterfront Electrical Utility Infrastructure. Together, these projects will reduce impact of flooding and storm events and climate change on public infrastructure.
