The objective of this project is to compile data on the use of plant protection products in agriculture for the reference year 2026, in compliance with Commission Implementing Regulation 2023/1537, Annex 1, Dataset 2: Use of Plant Protection Products in Agriculture. The project involves the capture, processing, compilation, quality assurance, reporting of data and carrying out other relevant actions in accordance with the specified requirements EC IR 2023/1537. Large part of the input data on plant protection product use is foreseen to be captured from a central database (ARIB e-fieldbook – the Agricultural Registers and Information Board’s governmental farm management software solution), which is expected to cover required information regarding enterprises eligible for agricultural support, while additional sources will be used to complete the dataset. The capture of additional data is important, as although professional users are obliged to electronically record pesticide use, data transfer to the national central ARIB e-fieldbook is currently limited to enterprises applying for support. So, some of the important actions of the project is the integration of data from multiple sources to be captured through alternative means, including private farm management software solutions. The main output of the project will be comprehensive statistics in compliance with Commission Implementing Regulation 2023/1537. The finalized data, along with related metadata, will be transmitted to Eurostat via the single-entry point services (EDAMIS) by the legal deadline of 31.12.2027.
