JERA has contracts ending in 2026 and 2029, Tohoku Electric Power's contract expires in 2030, and Kyushu Electric Power's deal expires in 2031. The utilities are considering diversifying their LNG supply sources, including increasing U.S. LNG purchases and tapping the spot market, to mitigate risks of supply disruption.
