Salinas Valley Reclaimed Water Project

operational with expansion investments

A reclaimed water project built in the late 1990s to provide reclaimed water to 12,000 acres of farmland in the Salinas Valley, primarily to relieve groundwater pumping in the coastal zone and to utilize wastewater effluent from communities. The project is now under increasing demand to supply shortfalls in domestic water for an area of Monterey County, with investments to increase wastewater processing capacity and pipelines to supply about 100,000 residents.
