Description | Economic/Social Impact of the Project Samalkot Power Limited [SPL] is implementing a 2,400 MW, combined cycle gas-based thermal power plant at Industrial Development Area of Peddapuram, Samalkot Mandal, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, India. Reliance Infrastructure is the EPC Contractor for the Project. It has tied up with reputed Original Equipment Manufacturers [“OEM”] such as General Electric, USA [for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines & Generators], CMI-EPTI, USA [for Heat Recovery Steam Generator], Hamon, Belgium [for Cooling Towers], Hyundai Heavy Industries [for transformers] and Xian Electric [for Gas Insulated Switchyard]. The Samalkot Project requires about 9.6 million standard cubic meters per day [mmscmd] of Natural gas. The Project was conceived based on supply of gas from the KGD6 block in Krishna Godavari basin. SPL entered into Bulk Power Transmission Agreement [BPTA] with Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. [PGCIL]. As per the BPTA, the EPC contractor [Reliance Infrastructure] would construct |
