As the importance of the environment has been recognized and the mandatory use of LNG, which is a pollution-free energy, is expanded to prevent environmental pollution, the government's long-term and stable long-term natural gas supply and demand plan has emerged, such as responding to the rapid increase in domestic LNG demand. In order to establish a stable natural gas supply facility by expanding the storage facilities in the Samcheok production base in a timely manner, Korea Gas Corporation decided to build two 200,000 KL-class above-ground storage tanks and related auxiliary facilities as the second expansion project for phase 2 and the project was awarded to Hyundai E&C.The two Samcheok production base tanks 8 and 9 built as 200,000 KL ground-type LNG storage tanks are 9% Ni plate type tanks, and the project involves participation of 14 first-tier construction companies. It was a large-scale construction involving 12 tank units and auxiliary equipment construction, berthing facilities and unloading facilities at the same time.
