Founded in Treviglio, Italy, in 1927, SDF is an integrated manufacturer of tractors, combine harvesters, specialist harvesters, diesel engines and farm machinery. Its products are marketed under the brands SAME, DEUTZ-FAHR, Lamborghini, Hürlimann and Grégoire. SDF’s production is based in four plants in Europe (Italy, Germany, France and Croatia), one in India, one in Russia and one in China (under development). In addition, it has established an industrial agreement with a local company for the assembly of tractors in Bandirma, Turkey.The proposed project in India involves expansion of manufacturing operations (including machine modernization and refurbishment) and setting up a research and development (R&D) and testing center in existing industrial buildings to support (i) SDF’s strategy of making India as the engine manufacturing center for all its manufacturing facilities in the group, (ii) aligning the Company’s production with European emission standards, and (iii) growth in the domestic market as well as export markets that cover neighboring countries, Turkey and east Africa (the “Project”).
