In May 2008 Bandirma Port was awarded under a 36 concession contract to Ceynak, a logistics and trade firm.The port, was operated by state-run railway company TCDD and located in the Black Sea region. Ceynak consortium won the project through competitive tender by oferring US$125.2 million for the right to operate the port under the 36 concession contract. The tender was subject to the approvals of the Competition Authority and the Privatization High Council. The Privatization Administration (PA), in charge of the sale, needed to also ask for the Council of State’s opinion. Upon approvals of these institutions, sponsor would take over the port. The port is awaiting the Council of State's approval to be handed over. According to the PA website, the transfer of operating rights was completed on March 31, 2010. Cey Group paid US$125.2 million for the rights to operate the port for 36 years, and committed to invest US$32 million in the rehabilitation of the port. Cey Group financed the deal via a US$125.2 million loan from Vakifbank. Sponsor Ceynak (Turkey) 100%
