Samtredia–Grigoleti Highway Section and Bridge Crossings Construction

The project involved building an 11.5-kilometer section of the Samtredia–Grigoleti highway and related bridge crossings. The Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure signed a contract with the construction company 'Akkord' in 2018. Supervision was assigned to a joint consortium of four international companies, while the Roads Department oversaw daily on-site control. However, the project faced issues with forged performance reports and lack of real monitoring, leading to a bridge collapse in February 2023 and significant financial damage.
