Description | In January 1998, Terminal de Servicios Portuarios Patagonia Norte SA signed a 30 year concession contract with to operate the entire port of San Antonio Este, in Rio Negro state for 30 years. The port was built by the Argentine federal government in 1983 and then transferred to state control in 1990. The call for tenders was made in April 1997 and Terminal de Servicios Portuarios Patagonia Norte SA was awarded the contract on December 23, 1997 by the state of Rio Negro. Terminal de Servicios Portuarios Patagonia Norte SA was comprised of 24 fruit and vegetable companies that heavily utilized the port of San Antonio Este. In 2004, Patagonia Norte began an upgrade at the terminal with an estimated US $3.4 million in investment commitments. None None |
