This is due to a runway repaving project that will put the two north-south runways out of service for approximately six months, and a decision to prohibit side-by-side approaches to the airport's parallel east-west runways in clear weather. These measures reduce the maximum flight rate from 54 flights per hour to 36, and the FAA does not plan to lift these restrictions after the repaving is completed. The airport expects about a quarter of arriving flights to experience delays of at least 30 minutes. |
