San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility Sludge Dewatering Facility

The city of San Jose is seeking statements of qualifications from design-build teams for a digested sludge dewatering facility project at the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. The project will include construction of new transfer pumps to convey sludge from the existing anaerobic digesters to sludge storage tanks, new sludge storage tanks, a new export pump station and dual pipelines to convey sludge from storage tanks to the new dewatering building, a centrate pump station to return centrate to the RWF’s headworks, and sludge cake storage and conveyance facilities. The owner has decided to incorporate high-solids decanter centrifuges in the facility. Construction is expected to begin by January 2020 and be completed by January 2022. The project is valued at $65.1 million.
