The general objective is to contribute to the reduction of the contamination of hydrological resources and to improve the sanitation conditions of the population, specially those located along the drainage system of the superficial waters of the San Salvador Metropolitan Area, with the design and preparation of an environmental sanitation plan for the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador. The specific objective is to support the government in the preparation of an Environmental Sanitation Plan for the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador, emphasizing in the rehabilitation, expansion and treatment of the sewage system, and also in the regulation, norm and control of actual industrial wastes. With these actions it is expected to define the first phase of financing of investments of the Program, concentrated in sanitation infrastructure and industrial wastes with a strategic purpose to reduce the contamination of hydrological resources.
