Information Department of water resources-MH - II has come up with Sangola Branch Canal major irrigation project with a ticket size of 720.45 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The project is included under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, PMKSY-AIBP and prioritized in 2016 for early completion. Sangola Branch Canal major irrigation project envisaging construction of 103 km long Sangola Branch Canal with necessary Distribution Network including water courses. The Branch Canal takes off from 169 km of existing Neera Right Bank Canal [NRBC] near village Pawarwadi in Sangola taluka of Solapur district. Sangola Branch Canal will provide irrigation facilities to chronically water scarce areas of Sangola taluka in Solapur district of Maharashtra. During inclusion of Project under PMKSY-AIBP in 2016 Balance Cost of the Project was Rs 27.02 crore march 2023 Eligible Central Assistance was Rs 33.72 crore CA released since 2016 till mach 2023- 31.15 crore Physical progress- 75.00 percentage Financial Progress- 94 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 11290 Ha Irrigation Potential created till march 2023- 9012 Ha Projected Date of Completion- december 2023
