Description

Yedigoze Elektrik was planning the development of the 320 MW Yedigoze hydropower plant, near Yedigoze, Seyhan river, Adana province. The project was to comprise 2 Francis turbines of 158 MW. Yedigoze Elektrik was an SPV set up by Turkish industrial holding Sanko. The project was commissioned in January 2011. Construction was done by a consortium led by Alstom Turkey. Alstom France was the consortium partner, and Alstom India a supplier. The EPC contract was signed in April 2008. Siemens Turkey supplied the electrical systems. Tender for the project was held earlier in July 1993, but dates back to the mid-1980s. The Turkish government opened up for tender concessions for 52 run-of river hydropower plants, between December 2009 February 2010. During the tenders, 615 bids were made and the deals were finalized in May/June 2010. As of October 2011, no further details about the financial structure were available.
