Description | Sanliurfa natural gas power plant was 270MW plant located in the Sanliurfa region in Turkey. The plant was to be built on a merchant basis, in the liberalized Turkish electricity market. Turkish utility, Aksa Enerji, part of the Kanzanci Holding was to build own and operate the plant. The license to build the plant was granted by the Energy Market Regulatory Board in May, 2011 and was to last 49 years. A 57 million euro(US$74million) engineering and equipment supply contract was signed with Finnish company, Wartsila. The first phase of the plant (120MW) was operational as of July 2011. Total investment was ESTIMATED at 270MW x 1.3 million per MW (estimate), is $351 million. Not sure whether to list the sponsor as Kazanci Holding, or it ssubsidiary Aska Enerji who is actually one of the energy subsidiaries of the holding and operates this power plant. |
