Description | The project involves transforming the traditional Sannazzaro refinery into a modern biorefinery by upgrading selected units, particularly the Hydrocracker (HDC2) unit, using Ecofining™ technology. A new pre-treatment facility will be constructed to process waste-based raw materials for producing hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The upgraded facility is expected to produce approximately 550,000 tonnes annually starting in 2028, supporting Europe's energy transition and decarbonisation goals. |
