Description | The Sanquhar II Community Wind Farm is a 44-turbine onshore wind farm under construction in Dumfries and Galloway and East Ayrshire, Scotland. It will generate enough electricity to power about 335,000 homes and is set to become the UK's fourth largest onshore wind farm when operational in August 2026. The project is expected to deliver over £800 million in local investment over its 40-year operational life and create hundreds of jobs during construction, with nearly 50% of the workforce sourced locally. It aims to offset approximately 540,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. |
