Description | In March 2010, Consórcio Foz de Santa Gertrudes, a partnership of Odebrecht [Brazil] and Foz do Brasil (which is a subsidiary of Odebrecht), was awarded by the municipality a 30-year concession contract to expand, rehabilitate and operate the water and sewerage system of the city of Santa Gertrudes (state of Sao Paulo). According to the concession, 100% of the sewerage was to be collected and treated by 2012. The contract was signed in November 2010 with the municipality of Santa Gertrudes. Foz do Brazil took over operations after contract signing. The contract was to be regulated by ARSESP (Agência Reguladora de Saneamento e Energia do Estado de São Paulo). Foz do Brazil committed to invest BRL 30 million (US 17 million) over the 30-year concession. |
