Description | The financing will be used for the construction and development of the Santa Lorenza hydroelectric plant, located in the central region of Huanuco, San Rafael district, province Ambo. Empresa de Generación Eléctrica Santa Lorenza won the tender to build and operate the plant. The facility is currently in construction phase and it is expected to commence operations in 2019. $10 million bridge loan with a tenor of two years is secured for the plant. Corporación Interamericana para el Financiamiento de Infraestructura (CIFI) provided the debt. Total project cost is estimated at $ 41.7 million and further loans are expected to be taken in 2018, the sponsor is covering the construction cost until the financial close of these loans.
