In 2015, a partnership of GS Inima Brasil (subsidiary of the South Korean company GS Inima; 75%) and the Brazilian companies Construtora Said (20%) and Enorsul - Servicos em Saneamento Ltda (5%), was awarded the 30-year concession contract to expand, rehabilitate and operate the water and sewerage facilities of Santa Rita do Passa Quatro, located at the state of Sao Paulo. The contract was awarded by the municipality, and the investments were expected to benefit around 23,500 people. The bidding criteria was established as a combination of the lowest tariff and the best technical proposal. Besides the referred consortium, only another bidder took part in the bidding process: the Brazilian company CONASA - Companhia Nacional de Saneamento. The sponsors established the special purpose company Companhia Aguas de Santa Rita S.A (COMASA) to lead the project. The contract was signed in April 2016, and COMASA took over the operations of the water and sewerage services in June 2016. The investment in the project was estimated at US$ 5.8 million (BRL 21.66 million) in the first six years of the concession.
