Santiago del Estero concession

In August 1997 the provincial government of Santiago del Estero awarded a 30 year concession contract for the management of its water and sewerage company DiPOS to local consortium Aguas de Santiago SA. The consortium became responsible for the provision of water and wastewater services for 170,000 people in the city of Santiago del Estero and 240,000 inhabitants in 13 smaller municipalities. Aguas de Santiago committed to meet certain coverage and quality goals, but no binding investment figures were set in the concession contract. The largest investment the company would undertake was the doubling of the sewage network, which in 1997 only served some 60,000 people. In total, Aguas de Santiago estimated it would invest some $77 million. The Aguas de Santiago SA consortium was made up of local companies Cast TV, El Liberal, TIC, Curi Hermanos, and Sagua International. None None
