Description | The project includes the construction, maintenance and operation of the 1.4-km bridge that connects Sao Borja (BR) and Santo Tome (AR) and of the access on both sides (7-km accesses in each side of the bridge).The construction of this new bridge was completed in Dec. 1997. The project company is headed by Iglys (Impregilo subsidiary), which has as its partners Cigla (also Impregilo subsidiary), Necon, Chediak and Usifast (Iglys and Cigla owns 59% of Mercovia). The total cost of the project was US$ 32 million and US$ 16 million was provided by the government of Argentina and Brazil (US$ 8 million each). The average daily traffic has been lower than expected because of the high toll rates. None None |
