Santos – Guarujá Tunnel

It is a dry connection between Santos and Guarujá, under the Port of Santos/SP channel, through an immersed tunnel of around 860 meters in length, plus accesses, aiming to improve a service that is currently provided by ferry boat. The project scenario that is being studied today is that of a partnership with the private sector, with the work being carried out through contributions from the Federal Government and the Government of the State of São Paulo. According to the project under study, the concessionaire will be responsible for preparing the executive project and carrying out the works to implement the tunnel and road accesses and for the maintenance, conservation and operation of the infrastructure for a period of 30 years, being remunerated at a tariff to be charged to users and, depending on the results of feasibility studies, public consideration, during the operation phase.
