Description

In October 2001, Itamaraty Group was awarded the contract to expand, rehabilitate and operate the bulk solid vegetable cargo terminal at Porto de Santos (multipurpose terminal) located at São Paulo state. Besides Itamaraty, other groups took part in the bidding process. The names of the other bidders, the bidding criteria and the winning bid amount was not disclosed. The special purpose company Terminal 12A S/A was established to manage the project. The 20-year contract was signed in December 2002 and the sponsors took over the project in January 2003.
