Companhia Auxiliar Armazens Gerais won a 20-year concession to rehabilitate and operate the Teacu III Dry Bulk Terminal (Teacu III - Armazens) at the Port of Santos on March 7th of 1996. The total area of the terminal is 36,932 square meters. Companhia Auxiliar Armazens Gerais has to pay monthly installments of US$ 35,000 (R$ 36,300) to CODESP, the government agency responsible for the Port of Santos. The company expected to invest US$ 15.64 million (R$ 16.2 million) during the concession period to rehabilitate the terminal facilities. As of December 2000, the company had invested 31.6 million (R$ 32.8 million) -US$ 15.94 million in addition to the initial estimated investment. Companhia Auxiliar Armazens Gerais was established as a subsidiary of Coopersucar, one of the largest Brazilian companies operating in the sugar cane and ethanol business. In 2011, the company announced US$ 64 million (BRL 125 million) to expand its handling capacity from 5 to 10 million tons per year. As of 2012, construction works were underway and were expected to be concluded by mid-2013. Only port projects which committed US$ 10 million or more in investments were included in the database.
