Description

The project involves the construction and operation of a terminal for public use at the Sao Francisco do Sul Port. The terminal will focus on wood products and other cargo, and it will involve a total investment of US$ 27.7 million. Construction works started in early 2000, and the first phase of the project is operational, as of Nov. 2000 (total invested in the first phase: US$ 16.6 million). The terminal is expected to handle around 1.5 million tons per year (4,000 containers per month). The project is sponsored by Portus (60%) and Cejen Engenharia (40%; Cejen is constructing and will operate the facility). The contract has a 25-year duration, extendable for another 25 years. The project also includes the construction of a multimodal complex in a second phase at a cost of US$ 11.1 million (this second stage should be completed by the end of 2001). None None
