Description | SARATHI (Students Alliance for Responsible Action to Transform Healthcare Institutes) is a volunteer initiative launched at PGIMER Chandigarh to assist patients and improve hospital efficiency. Inspired by a volunteer model at Henry Ford Health Hospital in the USA, the initiative involves trained student volunteers helping with registrations, lab processes, hospital navigation, queue management, bill payments, and finding the right doctor. It has expanded to 30 states and UTs with over 7,200 volunteers and is approved for rollout in 1,467 hospitals across India. The project aims to reduce patient waiting time and enhance patient satisfaction. |
