Description | The state government has approved a Rs 176-crore drain remodeling project aimed at making Sarojini Nagar's urban areas free from chronic waterlogging. The project involves remodeling the Kila Mohammadi drain, covering over 35 km of urban stretch, benefiting over 2.5 lakh residents across more than 240 localities including Ashiana, Sharda Nagar, and Kanpur Road areas. It includes reconstruction of a 7.156-km stretch from VIP Road to Ithuriya Pulia and a 3.415-km diversion drain, totaling 10.571 km of modern RCC drains. The drain width will be increased, especially around the airport zone, and existing earthen sections will be converted into reinforced concrete structures. |
