Description | The objective of the SaskPower Distributed Generation (DG) Enablement Project (the Project) is to enable carbon free and carbon neutral generation in the province. The objective of the project is to enable carbon free and carbon neutral generation in the province. The project will interconnect approximately 12 generation plants. The 12 plants include: - 1 Biomass plant - 11 Solar Plants The distributed generation plants are planned to be connected to SaskPower’s 8 Substations. These 8 Substations and an additional two transmission substations are considered project assets. The project works include: - Substation upgrade. - Radio communication to all generation sites except MLTC biomass and Kruger solar site (total 14 radio links). - Communication to Kruger solar will be via approximately 1.5km underground optical fibre. - Communication terminal and monitoring equipment for all sites; and - Approximately 4.4KM of underground feeder. The Project will result in increased capacity to manage renewable energy. |
