Description | Objectives: To reduce stigmatisation of Roma families in the health and social sector To reduce obstacles within the Roma communities preventing the use of public support services during pregnancy and early childhood To improve access of Roma to the Austrian Early Childhood Intervention Programme To strengthen the long-term impact of the Austrian Early Childhood Intervention Programme on social inclusion and participation of Roma in society Activities: Interviews and focus group discussions based on literature review with Roma and professionals from the health and social sector Development and adaptation of specific awareness-raising measures Pilot training Providing recommendations for modification of the Austrian Early Childhood Intervention Programme Internal evaluation and knowledge transfer: core team and committees linked to the Austrian Early Childhood Intervention Programme and the National Roma Dialogue Platform (altogether min. 120 persons) Type and number of persons benefiting from the project: The whole Austrian Roma community, especially the families and children - directly involved will be 61 persons from different Roma communities Professionals from public health and social services as well as staff members from the regional Early Childhood Intervention Networks – a miminum of 60 persons will be directly involved Expected results: Improved access of Roma families to the Austrian Early Childhood Intervention Programme Long-term: Increased health of Roma children – leading to improved participation in the society Long-term: Empowerment of Austrian Roma Increased awareness for specific needs of Roma families and their potential discrimination in public health and social services including the Austrian Early Childhood Intervention Programme Type and number of deliverables to be produced: 1 Final report with recommendations, 1 tested training concept, Information material, 1 scientific publication, 4 conference contributions |
