The East-West Crude Oil Pipeline, also known as Petroline, is a cross-country pipeline in Saudi Arabia that transports crude oil from eastern production hubs on the Persian Gulf to export terminals on the Red Sea, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. It stretches roughly 1,200 kilometres and connects the Abqaiq oil processing complex to the port city of Yanbu. Initially constructed in 1981, the pipeline has been expanded and upgraded over the decades to a capacity of about 7 million barrels per day, making it the largest bypass infrastructure in the Gulf region designed to avoid the Strait of Hormuz.
