Saugus River Walk - Design and Permitting phase

First and foremost, the RiverWalk project seeks to support and sustain locally based lobstermen by creating new economic opportunity. Attracting local citizens and leisure visitors alike to a newly accessible and inviting Saugus River bank will set the stage for the establishment of new restaurant and retail businesses which could include direct sale of Saugus lobstermen's daily catch. Zoning recently created for the Saugus River waterfront seeks to both attract and facilitate mixed-use development and support the planned RiverWalk through easements and alternatively payments into a fund to help maintain the facilities.
