Goodson Construction Co. to carry out a dike improvement project at the Savannah Harbor Dredge Material Containment Area in Ridgeland. The project entails raising the crest elevation of the perimeter dike by 6 ft, clearing the interior and adding a 2-ft-thick sand cap to the existing bird island in the western portion of the DMCA. Also included are repairs and modifications to the five existing weir and water control structures along the western dike, clearing and grubbing of an area along the DMCA exterior, and replacing the main entrance gate. |
