Information National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited [NHPC] has come up with Sawalkot HE Project with a ticket size of 22704.8 INR Crores. This project in Energy Generation [Renewable] sub-sector involves The current status of the project is DPR/Feasibility Study and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Sawalkot HE Project is a RoR Scheme located on River Chenab, in Ramban, UT of Jammu & Kashmir. In pursuance of MoU signed between NHPC Limited and JKSPDC on 03.01.2021, Sawalkot HE Project has been allotted to NHPC Ltd for execution on BOOT basis for 40 years. Installed capacity of project is 1856 MW and 7994.73 MU design energy with 90 percent dependable year and 95 percent machine availability . The project envisages construction of 192.5 m High concrete gravity dam, 08 nos undeground circular steel lined pressure shaft / penstocks leading to an underground main power house cavern accommodating 08 units of 225 MW each and 01 no pressure shafts / penstock for dam toe PH having 01 unit of 56 MW.
