Description | Saytha Construction Company, Dongfang Electric Corporation and Far East Industrial were planning the development of the 60 MW Nam Mang 1 hydropower plant, near Bolikhamxay. The MOU was signed in February 2007, but expired in April 2009. The PDA was signed in May 2010 by Saytha Construction Company (Sichuan, China), Dongfang Electric Company (China) and Far East Industrial (Hong Kong). The PPA was expected to be signed in 2011, with construction starting end-2011 and taking 30 months. Commissioning was expected for 2014-2015. The concession agreement and the PPA was reported as under negotiation by the Laos government. No information about cost was available. As of December, 2014 40% of the project was completed.
