The project SCA+ is an extension of the recently completed project Smart Cities Accelerator (SCA), a cross-border Danish-Swedish partnership The project’s primary goal is to create flexible and smart energy systems that promote renewable energy sources and energy efficient consumption in buildings. The result will be lower CO2 emissions. To achieve the primary goal, insights and interactions are required throughout the value chain — from energy production, energy distribution, energy distribution and energy storage, as well as the potentials of buildings for energy storage and efficient flexible energy consumption. SCA+ will also focus on a holistic, green approach, where cities, neighbourhoods, buildings and citizens together will coordinate activities in new ways with new tools and in new communities. The project wants to develop and test methods for planning, coordinating and realising this new reality, focusing on flexibility and efforts that will reduce energy consumption and partly increase the share of green energy.
