Description
Description | The STRIVE project (Schools & Teqvolley for Respect, Inclusion, Vitality & Equality) is a transnational initiative led by S.S. Lazio Teqball (Italy) and Olympiacos Piraeus (Greece). In response to the objectives of the European Union on Safeguarding, STRIVE strives to promote inclusion, gender equality, and access to sport for socioeconomically disadvantaged youth through the innovative sport of Teqvoly. The project is structured around three main objectives: ensuring equal opportunities for girls, fostering social inclusion for people with disabilities, and making sport accessible to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. By integrating sport into school curricula, STRIVE will provide free training sessions, equipment, and professional development for teachers, enabling them to sustain Teqvoly activities beyond the project’s duration. Through a series of structured activities, including training sessions, inclusive tournaments, and awareness campaigns, STRIVE will engage students aged 10-13 years from four middle schools in Italy and Greece. The initiative also incorporates safe sport principles to create a secure and supportive environment for all participants. The project will culminate in two national tournaments, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and reinforcing values such as teamwork, respect, and fairness. By tackling barriers to participation, STRIVE aligns with EU priorities on inclusion, gender equality, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles, ensuring a long-lasting impact on participants, schools, and the wider community. |
