SCiFi Foods Cultured Meat Pilot Plant and R&D Facility

under planning

SCiFi Foods, a start-up company formerly known as Artemys Foods, is planning to construct a cultured meat pilot plant and research and development facility at an unselected site in the San Francisco area. The project scope includes fit-out of a 100,000-sq-ft building with cleanrooms and laboratory space; and purchase and installation of stainless steel tanks and piping, 20,000-liter bioreactors, and refrigeration, mixing and packaging equipment. Construction is expected to begin in the late third or fourth quarter of 2022. SCiFi Foods will use the plant to produce burgers from plant-based meat and cultivated beef cells.
